There’s still time to donate through the company’s annual United Way campaign and help those in greatest need in our communities.    

Each year, the company partners with United Way to raise funds for a vast network of nonprofit agencies working to advance the common good and create long-lasting change. Your participation matters as we come together as one Freeport to make our communities stronger.

Francisco Costabal’s contributions to the mining industry over a career that spans 50 years were honored at a recent trade event.

Costabal, Vice President-Business Development and Administration, was recognized in late October on the opening day of the 2021 Expomin mining fair in Santiago, Chile, with a special award recognizing his contributions to the mining industry.

Today, Freeport-McMoRan joins the United States in saying thank you to those who have served or are serving in the nation's military. This includes hundreds of employees in our workforce, who bring skills and experience that make us a better company.

Otters are pretty picky about where they call home. So a new study indicating that the small mammals are thriving in the wetlands near the company’s Atlantic Copper operations in Spain shows the smelter is a good neighbor. 

Look around and spot everything that has copper in it. Start with the computer or other device you are reading this on. That goes for pretty much every other electronic gadget, from televisions to toasters. 

This simple exercise is the beginning of an example from Dig Into Mining, a collaboration between Freeport and Discovery Education that teaches middle and high school students the importance of mining while introducing them to STEM curriculums. 

If you have a child in the last year of high school or currently enrolled as a full-time student in a two- or four-year undergraduate program at a college, university or hospital school of nursing, they may be eligible for a scholarship through the Freeport-McMoRan Scholarship Program.
