No, Olmsted, President and Chief Executive Officer-Americas, is not moonlighting as a Major League baseball player. Rather, he was selected to throw out the ceremonial first pitch before the game at Chase Field.

Boris Medina has been named President-El Abra effective August 1 after serving as Interim President since June 1. He will continue to report to me. 

(July 26, 2022) A few months of hands-on experience at the Morenci mine and the guidance of a good mentor were enough to convince Bebak Sandhu to pursue a career in mining.

Sandhu is one of 253 interns who worked at Freeport-McMoRan sites throughout the United States this summer, performing a variety of jobs ranging from office work to engineering. Freeport will recognize its 2022 summer interns this July 28 and 29 at the company’s Collaboration Hub in Phoenix, where about 100 interns will report on their summer projects to company leaders.

(July 20, 2022) The supply of copper needs to almost double by 2035 to meet global carbon-reduction goals, and without substantial changes, the mining industry will be unable to fill that demand, according to a new report by S&P Global. The independent assessment also warns that efforts to attain net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 will fail unless that gap is closed.

The Backyard BBQ, as it was called, was an opportunity for people living in the remote Williamson Fork Valley area around the molybdenum mill to meet employees and see the inner workings of the facility.
