(September 13, 2022) Oscar Baca recently welcomed two “draft picks” otherwise known as interns into the Technology Center Tucson fold on the stage of a high school auditorium.   

The annual event at San Miguel High School drew a nearly packed crowd, as student internships were announced in a sports-style “Draft Night” event for the 2022-2023 school year.

Climax Molybdenum employees showed their rock-breaking skills during the recent Boom Days celebration in Leadville, Colo.

Boom Days celebrates the rich mining history of Leadville, which continues today at the nearby Climax mine. Aside from competitions involving old-style techniques such as pounding spikes with hand-held sledgehammers, the weekend festivities included old-West re-enactments, burro races, a parade and more than 100 food and craft booths. Climax Molybdenum was the premier sponsor of the event.

(September 8, 2022) Claudia Corvalán, Public Affairs Manager-Chile, has been appointed to the board of directors of Fundación Sonami, a nonprofit organization that works to improve the quality of life for communities near mining activities in Chile.

The foundation is part of Chile’s National Mining Society. It carries out initiatives and projects related to culture, art, training and development of human capital.
