(March 31, 2022) Normally, the small gesture of allowing a neighbor to take a shortcut across your yard might not seem like a big deal. But when your yard spans more than 25 square miles, and your neighbor urgently needs to get to the other side of it to help someone, that gesture is not so small. 

(March 29, 2022) The Verde River near the town of Clarkdale in central Arizona is flowing freely again for the first time in more than a century after a water diversion dam, originally built to support a long-closed local smelter, was removed by Freeport-McMoRan. 

(March 24, 2022) From chicken tenders to toilet paper, many of the most common everyday items have been harder than ever to come by in recent months. The same holds true for some of the supplies critical to sustaining Freeport-McMoRan’s business. 

(March 23, 2022) Freeport-McMoRan Inc. announced today that its Board of Directors declared cash dividends of $0.15 per share on FCX’s common stock payable on May 2, 2022, to shareholders of record as of April 14, 2022. 

These dividends are being paid consistent with FCX’s performance-based payout framework, which includes a base and variable dividend, announced in November 2021.

(March 22, 2022) Collaborative tire teams at Cerro Verde and El Abra are squeezing thousands of additional miles out of haul truck tires, saving the company money, reducing environmental impact and making them models for the company’s North American sites. 

In an effort to continue raising the bar, the operations in Peru and Chile launched separate initiatives several years ago to figure out how to get more miles out of the tires, which cost almost $30,000 each to replace.

With the number of COVID-19 cases steadily decreasing throughout our operational sites and the United States as a whole, we are ending COVID mitigation requirements beginning March 31.

This includes eliminating mask and social distancing requirements, contact tracing for close contacts, temperature checks and vehicle occupancy restrictions. 

(March 17, 2022) Movable wooden utility poles that support electric cables over the haul road in Bagdad become almost invisible at night when two trucks approach at the same time. They just disappear in the bright headlights of the oncoming truck. 

The simple solution was to add reflective tape, but it just never got done.

(March 16, 2022) The company’s annual Principles of Business Conduct training for all full-time employees launched this month. 

The PBC is designed to help ensure each of us knows the company’s values and understands how we do business. It also is an opportunity to reflect on the way we conduct our work together and treat others, as well as a reminder for how to address and / or report harmful workplace behaviors to help ensure a respectful workplace experience for all employees.

(March 14, 2022) The Deep Ore Zone mine at PTFI, once the heavyweight champion of the world, officially retired in December after a strong run that spanned two decades.  

The elder statesman of PT Freeport Indonesia’s current underground family, DOZ retired as planned. This step was driven by the underlying DMLZ cave advance.
