Today is World Day for Safety and Health at Work, and the company is pleased to share a special video where Freeport employees companywide talk about why safety matters to them. This year’s observance carries even greater significance, with the recent fatality at Cerro Verde that underscores the critical importance of workplace safety.

World Day of Safety and Health at Work was first observed by the International Labour Organization in 2003. It aims to promote the prevention of occupational accidents and illnesses globally.
