Bagdad Celebrates Employees for 20-plus Years of Working Safely

One could say a select group of Bagdad employees wears safety on their sleeve – figuratively speaking, of course.

Following strong safety performance in 2024, the site recently honored team members who have worked more than 20 years without a safety incident. In recognition of the commitment to staying safe in the workplace, each of the 47 employees was presented a Carhartt-brand jacket that included an embroidered patch acknowledging each as a “Safety Champion.”

“These employees lead by example every day,” said Jeff Monteith, General Manager-Bagdad, who also was among the 47 employees earning the 20-year achievement. “Their vigilance, responsibility and teamwork create a safer workplace and strengthen operations. By staying aware of hazards, communicating clearly, and following best practices, they demonstrate what it means to be the best at the basics.

Monteith and Rachel Adams, Health and Safety Manager, presented the jackets at a recent safety meeting, also using the opportunity to emphasize the importance of personal accountability and teamwork to help keep everyone safe.

"Congratulations to all the honorees,” Adams said. “Their dedication to safety serves as a model for Bagdad and bolsters our entire operation. By leading with careful oversight and responsibility, they show that emphasizing safety and supporting each other paves the way for a brighter future together.”
