Today marks the start of Global Volunteer Month at Freeport! Throughout April, employees worldwide will come together to support our communities through various volunteer activities.
This year, projects will focus on biodiversity and skill-based learning opportunities, reflecting the company’s commitment to Proudly Creating Better Futures by responsibly moving the world forward. Each site will organize events tailored to their local needs to help ensure meaningful and impactful contributions.
Last year, nearly 500 employees donated 1,500 hours to more than 30 projects, including highway cleanups, food bank support and safety training for the elderly. This year, the company aims to build on that success!
Detailed project information will be shared at each site. For questions, reach out to your local Social Responsibility team member or contact Brad Weiser or Vicky Waithe in Corporate Social Responsibility.
Global Volunteer Month launched in 2003 with the start of the company’s employee volunteer program and is an important way to partner to build stronger, more resilient communities. In addition to company-sponsored projects, Freeport offers funds to eligible non-profit organizations where employees volunteer.
