Keeping Safford Clean
Safford operations’ Reliability team recently came together to complete its first quarterly road cleanup as part of the site’s “Adopt a Mine Road” program.
The Safford team, comprised of 37 employees, spent a day cleaning a portion of the access road that runs from the site’s security entrance to the administration building. All told, the Reliability team picked up seven truckloads of trash along the 2-mile portion of the road. Most of Safford’s site divisions have adopted a section of the main road for quarterly cleanups.
“That road is the first impression many have of the Safford site,” said Jeremy Pompeo, Manager, Maintenance-Safford. “I was really proud of the turnout we had that day. In fact, I appreciate the work all the Safford teams do to help keep that road in the best shape possible.”
