There are numerous paths the next generation of workers can take to help prepare for a fulfilling, successful career.
Freeport is responding in kind.
This year, for the first time, the FM Scholarship Program will expand applicant eligibility to include dependent children planning to enroll at an accredited vocational/technical school or community college.
“More than ever, those entering the workforce are coming from diverse educational backgrounds,” said Dena Niskoch, Human Resources Coordinator. “What may work for one person may not be the best way for someone else. Expanding this important program helps ensure we are best supporting our future workforce.”
The FM Scholarship program awards up to 20 scholarships of $1,000 to $5,500 annually to dependent children of full-time, active employees working at a U.S. location, as well as all expatriates or third-country nationals on a U.S. payroll.
Scholarship eligibility is granted to an eligible child in his or her senior year of high school, planning to enroll at an accredited vocational/technical school, community college, college/university or hospital school of nursing immediately following high school graduation.
Eligibility to apply also is granted to full-time students enrolled at a college/university or community college, pursuing a baccalaureate degree, enrolled at a university or hospital school of nursing or enrolled as a full-time student in his or her first or second year at an accredited vocational/technical school.
The online scholarship application link is scheduled to become active November. 1. To apply, your child must meet the program eligibility requirements as outlined in the FM Scholarship Program Guidelines and Procedures. A link to the online application will be provided in FM News once it is live.
