First Day on the Job
More than 200 employees and family members – many on the younger side – recently visited the Tech Center for a fun day of lab tours, with each lab hosting hands-on demonstrations, ranging from making a chemical rainbow to performing a mineral dig.
The event also included a display of the various drones used by the company, a barbecue food truck, photo booth, raffles and face painting. The goal of the event was for employees of the Tech Center to have an opportunity to better connect with each other and to give the kids early exposure to the many types of careers available in the mining industry. This was the first family day hosted by the Tech Center since 2017.
“I want to thank the employees who planned this event,” said Steve Koski, General Manager-Tucson Technology Center. “It was a huge success. It was nice to see our employees showing off the areas they work in. The smiles on their face and their families faces spoke volumes.”
