To help protect itself and employees from any future cybersecurity incidents, the company now is requiring employees who need access to company systems to use Microsoft Authenticator app to securely identify themselves.
Essentially, Authenticator is a digital “set of keys” granting the user access to Freeport’s systems. Below are key points to understand about downloading the Authenticator app:
- Authenticator is managed by Microsoft -- not the company.
- The company cannot look at, monitor or do anything to anyone’s personal phone or any information on that phone.
- The company is not permitted by law to collect any personal data from the phone.
What is Microsoft Authenticator?
Built with Microsoft’s industry-leading cybersecurity systems, Microsoft Authenticator protects the company and you from cyber threats. Authenticator is both more secure and convenient to use than other multi-factor authentication methods. Millions of people worldwide use the app to add MFA protection to both their personal and work accounts.
