Organizational Changes Announced in Global Supply Chain

I am pleased to announce the following changes within the Global Supply Chain organization: 

Daniel Paling, Director-GSC Category Management, is being named Vice President-GSC. In this role, Daniel will continue to advance GSC goals and initiatives, with a focus on enhancing collaboration and communications across our global operations as well as support groups. He will report to me.  

Daniel joined Freeport’s oil and gas division in 2005, where he held positions of increasing responsibility, including leading the supply chain function. In 2017, he moved to Phoenix as Director-Procurement, and in 2022, became Director-GSC Category Management. Before coming to Freeport, Daniel worked in the Audit and Assurance practice at Ernst & Young. He has a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Sam Houston State University.  

Brian Buttram, currently Director-GSC Materials Management, will become Senior Director-GSC Materials Management, with responsibility for Shared Services (the GSC Hub) and Bulks Category Management. Brian joined the company in 2007 as a Senior Commodity Leader after spending 10 years at BASF Corporation in various engineering roles. He has a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Purdue University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh. He will report to Daniel. 

Will Brown, currently Director-GSC Operations, will become Senior Director-GSC Operations with responsibility for Category Management. Will joined the company in 2010 as a Buyer II and has held roles of increasing responsibility. He has a bachelor’s degree in business from Arizona State University. He will report to Daniel. 

Global Supply Chain Directors Aaron Friedman, Shikhar Hassani, Morgan Lamb, Bruce Nickle and James Seballos also will report to Daniel.
