Maintaining the company’s equipment is a team effort, and sometimes those teammates come from another part of the globe to lend a hand.
Freeport-McMoRan’s Bagdad mine, experiencing unplanned equipment breakdowns that were disrupting production, received help from a team of concentrator experts who travelled to Arizona from the company’s Cerro Verde operations in Peru. The team’s six weeks in Bagdad are chronicled in the latest edition of The Miner magazine, which is available in desktop and mobile formats.
This issue also features stories about the use of sensor data to map the best leaching practices, the company’s work to restore historic industrial sites into prime properties, and a look at how employees and the company’s equipment hold up during Arizona’s scorching summers and Colorado’s sub-zero winters.
Also, for the first time since 2019, The Miner will be available in print format. In response to feedback from the company’s site employees, printed versions of the publication will be available at the company’s North America operating sites in early August.
