April Is Global Volunteer Month

By svc-ewscms, 16 May, 2025

Join Freeport employees around the globe as they lend their time and effort to various projects during the company’s Global Volunteer Month in April.

Each year, the company participates in this month-long celebration of service. In April, hundreds of Freeport employees donate thousands of hours to projects that benefit local communities.

GVM projects are coordinated on a site-by-site basis, with a focus on biodiversity and community skill building. Specific project information will be shared at each site. For information or questions, contact Brad Weiser in Social Performance.

Global Volunteer Month launched in 2003 with the start of the company’s employee volunteer program now called Freeport Cares. Last year, some 600 employees, their families and friends donated 1,870 hours to projects ranging from highway cleanups and tree plantings to enhancing pollinator gardens and providing education activities for children.

Employee volunteerism is one way the company supports and fosters corporate citizenship globally. Learn more at FreeportInMyCommunity.com.
