(December 7, 2022) Rebecca Hudson-Nuñez’s contributions to the mining industry recently were recognized by the Arizona Mining Arizona with its first-ever award for such work.
Hudson-Nuñez, Manager-Government Relations was presented with the AMA’s inaugural Rising Star Award, which recognizes her work on behalf of the mining industry during the past year’s marathon legislative session.
As chair of the AMA’s Government Affairs Committee, Hudson-Nuñez steered the association through a challenging session, helping ensure legislation critical to the mining industry was passed while holding legislation that prompted concerns from the industry at bay. Hudson-Nuñez received the award in front of 300 people at the AMA’s annual conference.
“I attended several of Rebecca’s weekly strategy meetings with the committee, and she truly was the glue that held the coalition together,” said Francis McAllister, Vice President-Liability Management and Land and Water, who also serves as Chairman of the AMA.
“Rebecca has done a superb job as chair of the Government Affairs Committee of the Arizona Mining Association for the last two years,” said Richard Bark, Director-Government Relations and Environmental Counsel, noting that Hudson-Nuñez has been reappointed for another two-year term. “She is known on the committee for her leadership and collaboration skills to develop a consensus among all the mining companies on public policy issues.”
