To: All Freeport-McMoRan Employees
From: Steve Higgins, Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer and Josh Olmsted, President and Chief Operating Office-Americas

In the more than two years since introducing Freeport Edge behaviors, we have made great progress in integrating them into our daily work. This transition was important and set us on a course to develop new ways of working, with the goal of unlocking the full potential of each employee.
As our leaders and workforce continue to weave our Freeport Edge behaviors into how we work every day, we now are ready to take the next step in this journey. This includes refocusing our efforts on supporting the most important work in front of us – safe production, meeting our goals and targets, and managing costs.
To support this shift, we will be aligning appropriate resources with our operational goals. This includes the Transformation Office being dissolved in its current form and becoming the Operational Excellence team, moving to FM Mining Service from Human Resources. Shannon Lijek, currently Vice President-Transformation and Organizational Development will lead the new team, becoming Vice President-Operational Excellence focusing on Safe Production priorities. Shannon will report to Cory Stevens, President-FM Mining Services.
Many of the HR initiatives in progress will continue to be driven by HR with support from the Operational Excellence team as necessary.
This change is a natural progression, recognizing our work and project portfolio has increased exponentially. The reality of what we can resource and accomplish has reached a tipping point that warrants rebalancing. To that end, we are scaling back to what we can realistically handle, with Shannon’s team becoming a smaller yet agile team, continuing to support priority projects.
During the past few years, we have overcome numerous challenges. Our ability to adapt and meet these challenges head on is what has made the difference in our success. We are extremely grateful, proud and appreciative of everyone’s efforts to get to this point.
Please join us in supporting Shannon and her team in this new role.
