Tim Olson, Controller-Climax Molybdenum Company, is retiring June 30 after a 36-year career with the company. Tim has been the Controller at Climax for 21 years and a key member of the Climax leadership team. We are grateful for his many contributions to both Climax and Freeport.
Irene Morittu, General Manager-Rotterdam, will succeed Tim as Controller-Climax Molybdenum Company effective July 1, allowing Tim time to assist Irene in the transition.
Irene started with the company in 2005 as Controller at Rotterdam and worked in positions of increasing responsibility, including Accounting Manager-Climax Consolidations and Controller-Colorado operations. She was named General Manager-Rotterdam in 2017. Irene will report to me.
She has an accounting degree from the University of Applied Science in Utrecht, the Netherlands, and is a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Accountants in the Netherlands.
Jan van der Linden, Manager Operational Improvements-Rotterdam, will become General Manager-Rotterdam, reporting to Anand Raman, Vice President-Technology Climax Molybdenum Company effective July 1.
Jan joined Climax in Rotterdam in 2003 as a process engineer. He has held various positions within the company, including Manager-Health, Safety and Environmental and Manager-Operations at Rotterdam, and Manager-Moly Operations at Fort Madison.
Jan has a Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Delft University of Technology.
