Vaccinations and booster shots are especially important as the pandemic continues, travel ticks up over the holiday season and the country heads into peak flu season, according to Dr. Richard Vinroot, company Medical Director and Vice President, who answers employee questions in a new video.
“We’re going to be living with COVID for a long time – you should go get the booster just like you would get your yearly flu shot,” Vinroot said in the video, noting immunity wanes over time.
He said everyone who has had COVID-19 should get vaccinated, adding vaccines – and booster shots – continue to be very effective. “If you are vaccinated, vs. being unvaccinated, you are 17 times less likely to end up in an ICU or to end up dying.”
