The wide-ranging conversation addressed such topics as the company’s recent Lone Star project, keeping up with copper demand in China, navigating various geopolitical matters and the expansion of PTFI.
Even as the company finds new ways to supply copper to meet the world’s evolving needs, Adkerson stressed that it won’t do so at the cost of the environments in which the company operates.
“We have to do things right,” he said. “We have to be responsible and have high standards, and you have got to build that into the ethics of the company. You can’t put profitability above those issues.”
