Bagdad is celebrating a major milestone this week, as the BAHS team successfully moved material using fully autonomous truck 231. This achievement reflects the collaboration and support of teams across the site.
The team will continue field testing before transitioning to field verification training, after which BAHS will go live.
With this milestone, Bagdad is on track to become the first U.S. mine to implement a fully autonomous haulage system. This project aims to optimize fleet performance, enhance safe production and support Bagdad’s long-term success.
The BAHS project is one of Bagdad’s Big 4 initiatives and aligns with Freeport-McMoRan’s Reinvent Mining strategy, positioning the site for continued innovation and long-term success.
