Microsoft Defender will soon start warning you if a website is risky. If you see This website is blocked by your organization, it is because Defender has evaluated it as a potential cybersecurity risk.
Monitoring & Blocking
During this initial rollout, all medium- and high-risk websites are being Monitored. In this mode, you will see the warning message, but you are able to select Allow to go to the site.
Monitored websites will eventually be Blocked, which will remove all access.
View our guidance to learn about your options when a website is being monitored or blocked by Defender.
Protecting Freeport from online threats
Microsoft Defender automatically evaluates websites, apps, software and tools based on dozens of metrics, evaluating how risky they are to those interacting with them.
A website doesn't need to be malicious to be dangerous. Many of the sites blocked by Defender have poor security architecture, which makes them—and their users—especially vulnerable to online threats.
