From:        Jeff Monteith, General Manager-Bagdad                  Date: June 6, 2024

I am pleased to provide an update on various initiatives designed to help those employees who are experiencing long commutes or looking for affordable housing.

  • The first 64 units of the Bridle Creek studios are scheduled for occupancy in July, with the final 64 units scheduled for availability in September. Once complete, these 128 units will help ensure that employees on the waiting list for one-bedroom accommodations will have the opportunity for company-provided studio housing.
  • Employees who move from a company-provided two-, three-, or four-bedroom home to an existing one-bedroom home, Bridle Creek home, or future studio home ($275 per month) will receive a $10,000 downsizing incentive. Downsizing requests must be submitted to Townsite by the end of November.

The goal is to move employees into the right size house for their current needs, which will free up accommodations for those employees with larger families. Additionally, self-storage units currently under construction will be available, free of charge, for those who downsize. If interested, please contact Townsite.

Note: In the near future, self-storage units will be available to all Bagdad employees for a monthly fee.

  • The Bagdad FCX Commutes program will now pay for fuel in addition to covering the cost of the van rental, maintenance, and roadside emergencies. This program is designed to help reduce the financial stress related to commuting costs. Contact Rick.MacNeal@em.com, the designated Enterprise representative, for details about the program.

I also can confirm that there will be no rent increase in 2024. Rental rates are reviewed annually, and any required increases will be communicated three months in advance.

By providing additional housing and commute benefits, Bagdad is addressing the shortage of company-provided housing and supporting those waiting for available housing. For these reasons, Bagdad is not in the same situation as the Climax, Henderson, and Morenci operations, which is why we are not offering a housing allowance.

Please reach out to Human Resources if you have any questions or need additional information.

Thank you for your efforts and contributions to making Bagdad a great place to work. And most importantly, thank you for your commitment to Safe Production.
