Safe Production News – Safety Commitment Cards

As part of our focus on safety, the company has implemented a side-wide safety discussion around safety commitment cards. These discussions are to remind our employees, one-on-one that safety is a top priority and core value. The safety commitment cards are a reminder that each of us has a responsibility to put safety first and hold ourselves and each other accountable.
The safety commitment cards began with the senior leaders of our organization and have gone all the way to the front-line employees. It is not mandatory to have these safety cards on your person for each shift, but as a personal commitment to safety it would be nice if you did.
Cheikh Chekroud, manager of Haulage has rolled his cards out to his employees, and he feels that,” The safety commitment card rollout is going according to plan. I think that this rollout is an opportunity for all of us to recommit doing our jobs safely one task at a time. It is also an invitation to hold each other accountable for the commitments on the back of the card.” These commitments state:
Cheikh goes on to say that “The goal is to have more individual ownership of safe production which we’re sure will lead to a safer workplace.”
